    Wow

I want to be clear that I have not yet ridden this bicycle. I’ve just gotten it put together. It’s 20° outside and then might be a while before I am actually able to ride it. That being said I am absolutely convinced of the quality of this beautiful machine. After actually reading the substantial instructions and it’s assembling the bicycle I can say that this thing is made with quality components it might be. Everything is first class in terms of fit and finish. This is a precision made bike. I’ve assembled many bicycles in my day and this one wasn’t that difficult. I recognize some of the advanced features that it has. It has shock absorbing frame and adjustable fork Which can be set for rigid or shock absorbing. The battery is detachable so I imagine you could buy extra ones and extend the range. I love the way the wheels are smokeless some thing is. The chain ring and derailer assembly are made with precision. Every bit as much as my high-end Shimano derailer. The bike also comes with a built-in ride computer and electric light. The computer gives you indications such as pedal assist to RPMs and throttle as well as the speed and odometer functions. Bluetooth also. There are no safety mirrors but it’s a standard handlebars so you can add things like a phone holder, mirrors and whatever other accessories you might like. The overall design is quite amazing and you would be hard-pressed to tell from a distance that it’s an electric bike. It looks like a rather sturdy mountain bike from afar.My first priority for now is getting a lock with that takes the lock picking lawyer more than 10 seconds to open. And my next priority will be an AirTag and an AirTag holder. I am somewhat surprised that it doesn’t have a built-in place to accommodate an AirTag or android equivalent. But I guess I have the winter to get all of that set up.I will continue to update this review with my writing experiences and pictures. But I wanted to get the initial review posted and let everybody know how insanely I’m impressed with the quality so far after putting this together.

    Very nice eBike

I’d been waiting patiently for Santa to bring me an eBike for a couple of years, and the old dude never came through for me. Well this year I was able to take matters into my own hands, thanks to the Amazon Vine program, and the bike I received from Hover-1. And a very nice bike it is too!First, let’s start with the way it shipped – packaged very well against shipping damage thanks to copious amounts of protective card/paper/cardboard and zip ties, not to mention several plastic discs apparently designed to keep the frame centered in the shipping carton.Assembly was fairly easy and took probably 40-45 minutes, much of which was time spent carefully removing all of the aforementioned protective packaging. Aside from attaching the front wheel, all that was necessary otherwise was fitting the seat post into the frame and adjusting it, bolting the handlebar assembly in place, fitting the pedals, and inflating the tires.Components all appear to be of high quality and the bike features some name brands everyone who has owned a bike in the last few years will recognize (Kenda tires and Shimano shifters, for example).Fit and finish appears, for the most part, to be really good, particularly the welding and the paint. I am having an issue with the front lamp not working and am not really sure what the problem is. Contrary to what is shown in the installation manual, the lamp on my bike came preinstalled and appears to be hard wired. I have yet to figure out how it should come on (assumption is with the bike once powered up) and if it’s actually getting any power.Update: The headlamp on/off is actually covered (in a somewhat hidden way) in the manual under Display Panel – apparently you press and hold the pedal assist level increase button. Also, the mystery power button on the battery pack has now revealed its use (I gave up trying to use my rather chubby fingers to activate it and switched to a pencil eraser instead) – it is a momentary switch to indicate the state of charge on the pack, which is shown as a row of 5 green LEDs which turn red as charge is depleted. However, this highlights another inconsistency in the user manual, which states that there should be a green “ready” LED on the battery pack that is supposed to light once the battery is inserted in the frame (page 25) and I have found no other lights or switches on the pack other than this one.Styling is quite a subjective thing, and I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to bikes, so the ultra modern design (the 3 spoke wheels in particular) is going to take a while to grow on me. But the bike certainly is a looker, especially in the all black livery of the one I was shipped. The battery had about 75 percent charge out of the box, so I was able to go for a quick ride to test things out. The riding experience is quite nice and, although I’ve only been around the block, getting used to the throttle in pedal assist mode was very easy. Fastest speed I was able to obtain in my short ride was 15mph, but I didn’t get up to the highest speed rating available on the control panel so I might yet be able to eek out the extra 3mph promised on the box over a more substantial distance. Also, I have yet to play with the front suspension but, although it felt quite soft when I was assembling the bike, it handled well. Disc brakes front and rear seem to assure quick, smooth and even braking under normal conditions, though I have yet to try an emergency stop. I did find that momentum seemed to drop off once I reached maximum throttle. Almost like what happens with cruise control in a car once you reach the programmed speed. It didn’t bother me at all, nor spoil the riding experience, it just felt a bit weird.Update 2: The feeling like the bike had gone into cruise control was, in fact, cruise control. Apparently, if you hold the throttle in full position for a few seconds the bike does indeed try to maintain maximum speed. Then to disengage you simply apply the brakes or you can “blip” the throttle to maximum again. Literally none of this is outlined in the user manual, at all. And as someone who is new to e Bikes this feature has obviously come as a bit of a surprise. A pleasant surprise, no doubt, but a surprise none the less.Overall, I’m really quite happy with the bike and will update my review with more impressions as I get to ride it some more.

I have wanted an electric bike for so long. A lot of people have them in my area , which is flat and so , perfect for e-bikes. What a fun way to beat gas prices. I wanted this bike for fun, but I can use it for trips to the store or other errands,Unfortunately, the battery arrived dead.

Motor has good torque, build quality good, motor stops short of assisting at higher speeds.

The cycle has some quality hardware such as disk brakes, shimano shifters, and a nice torque-y motor. Looks quite flashy, which may make it a target in high-theft neighborhoods, as it is very clear that it is an e-bike. While the motor has quite a bit of power, the electronics on the bike actually limit the speed to motor operates to 18mph, with an abrupt cutoff, which is disappointing, as I would have liked to go a bit faster with assistance from pedalling. I have family in a planned community where there are golfcart/bicycle trails that have a speed limit of 20mph. I would have liked to take the bike there, but it is just a bit slower than would be sensible to not be a nuisance. I would have much prefered that the motor kept offering some assistance beyond 18mph, but with the heaviness of the bike, its quite impossible to go beyond that speed without motor assist. My other concern I noted while riding this bike is that the battery indicator appears to be based of voltage, and drops significantly while operating the throttle. I have used other bikes and scooters that are able to give a useful reading regardless of throttle use, so this should not be an issue on an ebike at this price point. Overall a solid bike if you aren’t concerned with the speed limitation.

    I love this bike!

The bike only had 12 reviews so it was a little hard to make a decision on buying it. I’ve looked for an electric pedal bike for a few years, but the cost was a little out of my budget. The price was right and the brand sold me. The box was damaged on both sides where the handle bars were located. However, there was no damage to the bike. The pics w the instructions was a little confusing because there isn’t a description. It actually wasn’t that hard to put together after contemplating for a few minutes as to what goes where. I needed my daughters help briefly to hold the handle bars up while I sat on the seat to adjust it. One of the screws wouldn’t go in properly. See pic. This was a manufacturer default in the metal. I took the bike to my dads and w/ WD-40 and force he got it in place.Overall the bike is fun and I think a good purchase.

Hover1’s Instinct Electric Bike — I Now See the Benefits of an E-Bike

Hover-1 has several electric transportation options. They do e-scooters, hoverboards, and e-bikes. I’ve known them for the hoverboards that my kids loved. Hover-1 is owned by the DGL group, an electronics company, founded in 2001, with a focus on Bluetooth products and electric toys. So they’ve been around awhile and have a reputation for quality in the realm of e-vehicles. So as far an e-bikes go, they are certainly a manufacturer to consider. As far as e-bikes themselves go, I had many questions: why an e-bike? What’s the advantage over a regular bike? Do I need to pedal? If so, what’s the exercise benefit? Is it like a mini-motor cycle? I just didn’t see the point. To me, you pedal a bike. Does the battery powered motor really make that much of a difference? Even though the weather out my at this time isn’t perfect for biking, I was able to give the Hover-1 e-bike a spin to see how it all worked and answer my questions.First off is the packaging and instructions for assembly. I dreaded this at first because I have a so-so history of calibrating bike brakes and putting on chains. Fortunately, my fears were alleviate when all of that was taken care of by Hover-1. The bike essentially comes with six separate pieces: The frame of the bike with back wheel (the battery, brakes and chain are IN PLACE), the seat, the front wheel, the front wheel lock, the pedals, and the handlebars. The biggest challenge I had was getting the front wheel to fit in place. It took he a good ten minutes to fit it in place. At first it seemed like the frame was too narrow — too tight a fit, like I’d have to remove the nuts on the sides of the wheel. And the instructions were of any help on this, just technical drawings. However, I was able to finally get it in place and lock it with the wheel lock. As mentioned, the instructions were made up of technical drawings. In some cases, you really had to use a magnifying glass to see where everything fit. As far as tools go, you’ll get a small wrench and two hex wrenches. That’s pretty much all you’ll need to get this together. Eventually, you’ll may want to calibrate the brakes better, but to my novice eye, front and back brakes looked and operated well.First usage: It’s a slick looking bike. I like the thicker three-spoked wheel along with Kenda tires. Kenda has been around for over 60 years. Great tires! As another reviewer has said, when you apply the throttle to engage the motor, it does so gradually, building up speed rather than jerking you forward. Peddling is necessary on setting 2 – the motor provides you with extra oomph as you peddle (answers my third) question) – the higher the throttle, the more assist you get. Setting 3 will propel the back wheel with no peddling; however, it will drain your battery faster. I got up to the 15 mph as advertised on a level road. The advantage in this case you can go longer distances without taxing yourself as you would with a regular, manual bike (answers my second question). There is still an exercise component – you’re still peddling. And you can ride it like a regular bike if you don’t turn on the battery and use the throttle (answers my forth question). And to answer my fifth question, no, it’s not a mini motorcycle. First off, it’s not mini – it’s a good sized bike, and second, it requires you to peddle rather than just get on and ride like a motorcycle. The battery takes about 40-45 minutes to fully charge – I forgot to add that yes, it cones with keys to lock it in place and a charging plug. And it’s fairly heavy. And to answer my first question, why an e-bike? I can now see several benefits. The first is that it provides a means to travel farther with less effort. There’s an extra boost with the throttle to assist with the pedaling allowing you to ride longer, faster, and go farther. This would explain the popularity of these bikes in the Metroparks. The pedal assist gives riders a boost, allowing those getting back into exercise or senior-aged riders to enjoy themselves more by reducing stress on the joints. It allows people who may not otherwise ride a traditional bike (due to aches and pains) to join in on the fun of riding outside again without as much physical exertion. This is also a great option for commuting if you live a few miles away from work. Even though this has a range of 40 miles (on the lowest throttle setting), this allows a more efficient means to ride your bike to work without looking like you just completed the Tour de France. There’s also e-bike insurance you can by through certain insurance companies to cover damage caused by theft, damage, collision, fire, etc. So there are indeed benefits to getting an e-bike. This is one from Hover-1 is definitely one to add to your list.

Wonderful for this first-time ebike owner

I have to mention right away that this is my first ebike and I was very excited to get it as I’ve wanted one for some time. My husband wasn’t particularly enthusiastic but he’s pretty knowledgeable about regular bikes and was able to put it together for me. Well, that got him interested in the ebike and now he’s always finding reasons to ride it. For now we’re sharing it but I suspect we will get another one at some point. Neither one of us has found anything negative to say about it so far. It’s a very smooth-riding ebike and easy to handle. The seat has a quick-change feature so we can easily adjust the seat height depending on which of us is riding the ebike, and the seat is quite comfortable. We’re both still getting used to the petal-assist but it’s quickly getting more intuitive. The ebike has a built-in computer that supports bluetooth and provides speed and odometer readings and other information about your ride.I believe this would be a great acquisition for beginners as well as those who are more experienced as long as it meets their power and mileage needs. I don’t think I will ever “outgrow” or get tired of it!

    Wow!

Never had an electric bike. So, with mouth open I say, “Wow!” 😁This is an awesome looking bike. The electric functions of assisting are amazing. I sure wish I would have had one of these when I was a kid. The hills around my house don’t seem so intimidating with this under me.Ok – review timeIt came packaged well protected and easily identified by picture on outside of box. Note: be home when it arrives to help prevent theft. Not too difficult to assemble but will take about 45 minutes or so. If you’ve never owned an electric bike you’re gonna need to educate yourself, so hold on to instruction manual for future questions. The wheel spoke design is really cool, I was just used to wire spikes and lots of em, but this is new designed spike system looks cool 😎 my word from childhood.Several features that are amazing – disc brakes, headlamp, speed gauge.Riding this around was so simple. The bike really does a lot of work for you. And you can really cruise! The color scheme and quality of workmanship is above normal. Not a bike expert but would definitely recommend this bike if you can afford one. 👍

Well thought out design, economical but performs well

Edited to add: I have asked the seller to provide a replacement shifter, for the left/front shifter that does not work, but they have not responded after 2 weeks. I would not count on good support. Anyway…Edit 2 – Months later, I have still not had any contact from the seller about the bad shifter.I was very skeptical when I ordered this bike, but I have to say it won me over very quickly. I build my own bikes and trikes, I’ve got 3 electric tricycles, 3 other electric bikes, and about half a dozen regular bikes, so I can give a pretty authoritative review of this. Packaging could have been a little better – mine arrived with some taped up damage to the box but no significant damage to the contents – just a small reflector broken off. Assembly of the bike was a snap for me, and shouldn’t be too difficult for a person of modest skills and no bike building experience. It was probably harder taking off all the packaging and padding than it was putting the components together. Only three tools were needed. and these were included in the box – two allen keys and a small wrench. I’m making an unboxing and assembly video, so I’ll edit this review to include that once it is done. Let’s get to how it works…Right out of the box, everything assembled into a properly adjusted ride-able bike. The brakes and right or rear shifter did not require any adjustment at all. The left or front shifter needed some slack taken out of the cable, but fails to index. It will shift into a higher gear but then pops back to low. I’ll be taking that up with the company as a warranty issue. However, I immediately put 12 miles on the bike nearly all of it at 18 mph throttle control with very little pedaling. I weight about 210, so I am near the top of the weight range for this bike. It looks like I’ve still got significant battery left, so I’ll provide my actual initial range when I edit.Things I like about this bike: 1 – The throttle and pedal control are very smart. Nearly every other electric bike I’ve ridden will surge and jerk if you apply the throttle too abruptly, and/or will give you too much initial thrust under pedal power if you use the highest settings. No matter how abruptly you apply the throttle, this bike gently ramps up the power giving you a smoother, safer acceleration. 2 – cruise control. If you run the bike up to maximum speed and hold it a few seconds, the bike will maintain that speed from the time you release the throttle to when you brake. 3 – Stealthy appearance. You could, at first glance, easily miss the fact that this is an electric bike. The down tube is a little fat, but that’s the only obvious give-away. The rear hub is about the diameter of the gear cluster. That leads us to 4 – good cable management. The cables and wires on this bike a nicely and neatly bundled. 5 – Choice of components – while they are not expensive high end components, the brakes and shifters are from Shimano’s economical but serviceable, dependable range. Brakes are mechanical – cable run – discs. 6 – Battery is easily removable. If you ride this bike to the grocery store, you can pop the battery right off and take it inside with you, making the bike a much less attractive target for crooks. You can take the battery off for weight reduction when carrying the bike on a rack, or bring it in the house for charging.I thought this bike was a good value at the original price when I ordered it – $1299. I was puzzled to see it reduced to $840.75 a week later, but not upset. I got the bike free in return for reviewing it, but I would have thought it was a great value at $1299. I can recommend this bike to anyone considering an electric bike as a cruiser or grocery getter, but of course, I would not recommend it for athletic endeavors or as a downhill bike. It’s built for good utility and relative simplicity – not for bombing down a mountain.

    Very Nice!!

This is a really nice bike, I like the fact the battery looks like it’s part of the frame and the bike overall is not too heavy. It has quality components like the chain derailleur and hydraulic brakes. It’s very smooth and whisper quiet, typically you can hear some sort of whine or clicking from an E-bikes motor but this one is extremely quiet. It has a throttle grip like motorcycle to increase and decrease speed from the motor, I really like this because unlike thumb lever throttles, you can keep your entire grip on the handle bars and not just your 4 fingers. The motor will also kick in with peddle assist without using the throttle if desired. One thing that will take a little getting used to is that the throttle is not instant power, it takes a second to kick in the motor once you twist it. This could be a good thing for inexperienced riders as to not catch them off guard when accelerating. It has full suspension, you can adjust the front shocks stiffness with a click of the dial and the rear shock by twisting the shock itself. The rear shock is mounted to a threaded shaft so by spinning it higher or lower will adjust the tension. It also has a very bright 4 LED headlight and a built in bell on the handle bars. I also really like the fact the rims don’t appear to be aluminum so they should never bend. This is a very nice full suspension bike at a fantastic price. So far we are very happy with it!I hope this review and pics were helpful.

I can’t say enough great things about this Hover-1 electric bike!

I can’t say enough great things about this Hover-1 electric bike! It arrived to our door in a box and I immediately thought, of a complicated assembly, but it was so easy to put together out of the box. Everything is carefully packed and preassembled, the only things you have to worry about are screwing on the handlebar and the pedals; the tire and seat pop in very easily. I feel that the bike is made to be quite portable, which is not the case with many large and heavy electric bikes. It is feature-rich which shocks, easy adjustable brakes, battery lock, easy shifting, led light, and more to still be discovered. Construction-wise, it is a very quality build and didn’t have to be tuned like other bikes. It is really effortless right out of the box.Performance-wise, the ride is super smooth, shifting is very smooth, and for the electric portion of the bike, it is quite fast! The battery came with a charge right out of the box.The design of the bike is very slick and modern; the wheels are very simple and modern, and the tread is excellent. Comes with a nice seat as well. After some time riding, the couple things I would improve are having a better seat (feels hard after a while riding, and I wish it did go faster, but it does go a nice 15mph). It is also confusing on how to turn on the headlight.Overall, I am impressed with everything so far. Shipping was really fast and everything was easy to put together, under 30 minutes for me. Highly recommend this!

This is an attempt at a mountain bike masquerading as a commuter bike

I can’t recommend this bike. I was poorly packaged and was damaged when I received it. Hover-1 support was very slow to respond and when they did they told me to take it up with Amazon. The features of this bike are NOT a commuter bike, for example there is no place to attach fenders or a rack – its really a mountain bike that is likely underpowered for that use so they are trying to pass it off as a commuter bike

    Horrible customer service

Had problem with battery right out of the box. Would not charge, bike would not work without the battery. Called manufacturer customer service and recording said they were not excepting calls and needed to email. Emailed same day and after 2 days was told by the manufacturer customer service that it was basically my fault that the battery was defective and if I hadn’t purchased an extended warranty then they would not do anything for me. Thanks to Amazon for sending me a new bike with new battery. Would give 0 stars if possible

The bicycle’s appearance is truly fantastic, but it won’t start. The battery is likely dead.

The bicycle’s appearance is truly fantastic, but unfortunately, it won’t start. The battery is likely dead, given the bike’s new condition. The bike itself is solidly constructed, and all the components appear to be in excellent shape. However, upon assembling the bike, it wouldn’t start. I charged the battery for 8 hours and followed the provided instructions, yet the battery seems to be dead or malfunctioning. I’ve reached out to the customer support team and am now awaiting their response. At this moment, I’m assigning a one-star rating based on my experience. I intend to update my review as circumstances evolve, particularly if the issue gets resolved. I’m contemplating returning the bike if I don’t receive a response from the support team within another week. It’s truly frustrating to have the bike in my possession but be unable to take it for a ride. Regrettably, I’m quite disappointed with this situation.

Bicycle shipped with front disc brake being inoperable. Front light was broken/unattached. The front wheel/tyre is wobbly and has major damage on 1 of the 3 arms of the inside rim. Any attempts to tighten the front wheel results in being unable to rotate due to poor placement of screws near the disc bumping into bike frame (this is so bad!). The carriage/seat is not able to be securely tightened. Rear tyre and wheel rub on disc brake…There’s more but we’ll stop there. Simply put this particular bike was damaged during shipping and poorly put together and unable to safely ride.If you purchased this ebike and are able to ride + enjoy it, then count your lucky stars as you are a rare breed!

    Packing was sub par

This looks like an awesome bike! I never had an opportunity to try it because it was damaged in transit. There was not enough packing around the bike in the box to keep it from becoming damaged.

Great for the price lots of upgrades and repairs to get to a reliable and useful bike

Purchased in July 2023 ‘ after a few uses battery life would die after a few miles called tech support they never answered then I emailed customer support at hover 1 and they gave me a ticket number to get a reply back stating I over charged the battery when it was instructed to charge over night ‘ for them to tell me it no longer had a warranty so I decided to put a lil extra money in it so I would not take a complete loss I sent the battery out to battery factory to services and repairs battery’s they rebuilt the battery pack for a few hundred bucks it now runs stronger and longer ‘ replaced the tires and brakes come it comes with cheap everything out of the box ‘ all in all a good bike with a few mods and upgrades for the buck.. warranty and support horrible

Bike won’t start. Battery could be dead.

The bike is well built. However, when I assembled the bike, it won’t start. I charged the battery for 5-6 hours, followed the instructions but the battery seems dead or the electrical system could be broken as well. I emailed the support and waiting for the response. Giving one star for now. Will update the review if the issue is resolved. I am planning to return the bike if I don’t hear from the support for another week. It’s frustrating to have the bike in front of you but you can’t take it outside for the spin. Very disappointed.Update: I received the replacement battery in a week and I am changing the rating to 4 star. The bike motor is fairly powerful and I was able to climb very steep roads very easily. The battery runs for a longer time if you use the pedal assist only when necessary. I love the bike overall. I will update the review once I use it for a longer time.

    Poor build quality

Initially, this bike seemed like a rare find. Turns it’s out too good to be true.CONS: Shipping box had SIGNIFICANT damage. Box damage was annotated in UPS delivery notes as well.
